Roland Ledneczki, below left with Guy Wood, is OSI Electronics UK’s new Quality Engineer. He was promoted from Rework Technician and reports to Guy Wood, Quality Manager.
“Under Guy’s leadership, I’ll help him to evolve our Quality Management System to a world class standard by ensuring we continue to have a solid, in-house QMS structure of record keeping for our ISO 9001, 13485 [medical] and 14001 [environmental] accreditations,” he said.
Having joined the company in 2016, Roland was keen to make more of his customer-facing experience – an important asset in quality management – along with helping to realise the cellular manufacture and lean manufacturing projects, which OSIE UK is moving ever closer towards.
“These are management techniques I’ve used but not implemented,” he said. “I know what works really well, which will have practical benefits when looking at the bigger picture with Guy.
“My other tasks include being pro-active with customers if there are component or suppler issues and if stock has to be quarantined. Among routine things are equipment calibration and resolving any relevant production concerns quickly.”
With OSIE UK becoming a go-to contract electronic manufacturer for medical devices, part of Roland’s training programme will take in supplier audits and attending an official auditing course for the ISO medical standard.
“I’ve worked with some very good colleagues who have demonstrated the value of excellent communication and leadership,” he added. “I’ve learnt acquiring and passing on knowledge helps everyone, so being approachable, finding a solution and suggesting ideas matters a lot to me.”
OSI Electronics UK is a subsidiary of Californian based OSI Electronics.
